Stephen Blais is the Ottawa City Councillor for Cumberland Ward. He won the ward in the Ottawa municipal election, 2010, defeating the incumbent Rob Jellett.
Blais was born in Ottawa and grew up in Cumberland and is the past president of the Queenswood Heights Community Association.
Prior to being elected as a councillor, Blais served as an Ottawa Catholic School Board Trustee as well as a communications staffer at Carleton University. He was first elected as a Trustee in 2006 when he defeated the incumbent. He has also worked for mayor Jim Watson in the past. Blais has a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Ottawa and is completing his MBA at Carleton's Sprott School of Business.
